My Body Is Like A Home

“Body house”

[after extending an analogy between ears and eyes as windows and mouth as door, this ends the poem]

Her body is a house,
and she’s home
for now.

And with the end of the poem she is gone, for now.

  1. A friend asked why “like” in the title to this entry.

    Because the body is also like a rocket ship flying to the stars….

    The body is also a strange apparatus fit for exploring… itself and the world.

    Not too enamoured of the “X is home” equation — something gets excluded…
